Your privacy on the Internet is important to us at Energy NewsData, and we recognize the importance of protecting the personally identifiable information we collect about our subscribers. We are committed to protecting your personal information. Please read the following information about how we handle your personal information.
Energy NewsData may provide our subscribers' names and email addresses to third parties who provide products and services that we believe may be of interest. If you do not want your name and email address to be shared, please click the My Account link at the bottom of any page, then click Update My Profile and clear the "Share my information" box at the bottom of the form.
If you use our recommendation service to email one of our articles to a colleague, you will need to provide us with your colleague's email address. Also, your email address will appear on the "From" line of this email, thereby disclosing this information to whoever opens and reads the email. Energy NewsData will automatically send this person an email, attaching the recommended article and inviting them to visit our site and register for a free subscription. Thus, the colleague who received the article may also receive future emails from Energy NewsData about our news services and events we sponsor.
For our internal purposes, we gather date, time, browser type, navigation history and IP address of all web site visitors. This information does not contain anything that can identify users personally. We use this information for our internal security audit log, trend analysis and system administration, and to gather broad demographic information about our users in aggregate to help us understand how our subscribers use our site, so that we can make the site better and improve subscribers' overall experience.
For these same reasons, if your browser is set up to accept them, we use a feature known as a "cookie." Cookies contain bits of information that Web sites transfer to your computer's hard drive for record keeping purposes. Cookies can make the Web more useful by storing information about your preferences on a particular site such as ours and enabling quicker log-ins. If you reject cookies, you may be required to enter log-in information more frequently. Although we may assign your browser a cookie, it doesn't tell us who you are.
